Completing the circle of support for for the business community.

We help business people rebuild their lives after bankruptcy.

What we do

Our Statement of Principles

  • We support the integrity of the Australian government regulatory and enforcement insolvency frameworks.

  • We support the professional practices of financial, legal, taxation, accounting, insolvency, medical and mental health advice.

  • We provide tailored support, encouraging beneficiaries to seek independent professional advice.

We offer an entirely new way of dealing with the problem of business failure.

ABERA is Australia’s first not-for-profit organisation, specifically established to help individuals, communities, industry and government departments in managing and responding to business failure.

We provide a safety net for entrepreneurs and small business owners who are suffering hardship, and are trying to reassemble their lives following an ‘honest business failure’ in the midst of difficult economic times. We deliver education and support to individuals that reaches beyond business ownership, and addresses the current gap that exists between a failed business venture and restart through our Restart Smart program.

People can learn from business failure - we show them how.
